Privacy Policy
Summary
Orthodox Daily does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any server. Everything you enter into the app — your prayer list, settings, journal entries, confession notes — stays on your device. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party data sharing. The only time you leave the app is if you choose to make a voluntary contribution, which is processed by Stripe.
1. Who We Are
Orthodox Daily is developed and maintained by Kauffen, operated by a sole trader registered in Portugal. You can reach us at geral@kauffen.com.

2. What Data We Collect
We do not collect any data.
We have no servers that receive information from your device. We do not use analytics services. We do not use crash reporting services. We do not embed any tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, or third-party data collection libraries.
When you use Orthodox Daily, no information about you, your device, or your activity is transmitted to us or to any third party.
3. What Stays on Your Device
The following data is stored locally on your device only, using the operating system's standard storage mechanisms. None of it is transmitted, backed up to our servers, or accessible to us in any form:
- Prayer list — names of the living and departed you enter for commemoration during prayer
- App settings — language, calendar style (Julian / Revised Julian), jurisdiction preference, notification times, font size
- Last-prayed timestamps — local-only timestamps recording when you last completed a prayer rule
- Journal entries — any text you enter in the optional journal feature
- Confession preparation notes — encrypted on your device using your device's secure storage and erased immediately when you mark a confession as completed
You can delete all of this data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's storage in your device's settings.
4. Third-Party Services
Stripe (donations only)
When you tap "Offer a contribution" in the app, your device opens an in-app browser window pointing to a payment page hosted by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects only the information necessary to process your payment (card details, billing email if requested). We never see or store your payment information — Stripe sends us only the net amount of the contribution.

Apple App Store and Google Play
When you download Orthodox Daily, Apple or Google may collect download statistics under their own terms. We do not receive personally identifiable information from either store.

5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, the app schedules local reminders (e.g., morning and evening prayer times) using your device's built-in notification system. No push notification servers are used. No device tokens are collected or transmitted.
You can disable notifications at any time in your device's settings or within the app.
6. Children's Privacy
Orthodox Daily contains religious texts suitable for all ages and does not knowingly target children under 13. Because we collect no data of any kind, no special children's-data provisions are triggered.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA / others)
Because we do not collect or store any of your personal data, the rights typically granted under privacy regulations such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — including the right to access, rectify, or delete your data — have nothing to be exercised against. The only data that exists is on your device, fully under your control.
If you donate via Stripe, Stripe is the data controller for your payment information. To exercise rights regarding Stripe-held data, please refer to Stripe's privacy policy linked above.
8. Security
All in-app data is protected by your device's standard security mechanisms (passcode, biometric unlock). Confession preparation notes are additionally encrypted at rest using your device's secure storage.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change our data practices (for example, if a future version introduces optional cloud sync), we will update this policy and indicate the new effective date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice on first launch after the change.
